Well that is of course after this week's snow comes! I must admit to feeling as though winter really has gone by fast. It may be my least favorite season for so many reasons. I love what I do and Cape Cod in the winter does not allow me the opportunity to photograph as much as I like.

I do however get the chance to create marketing pieces, revamp my websites, blog and network.

I am getting ready to head to PPAM this weekend to learn some more about teaching photography, I figure maybe that is what I can do in the "off "season. I enjoy attending these events, it's a time to meet up with some photographers I have known within the field for the last 12 years.

I also have the Well Wed Wedding Affair at Ocean Edge. It is going to be a fantastic event on Sat March 6. If you are currently a bride for my 2010 season and would like a FREE pass - call or email me I have a few I would be happy to share.

I am looking forward as well to bringing in a new assistant, maybe 2, this season who was with me in the past. When I am working with large families on the beach it would be a huge help to have someone "entertaining" while I capture the images.

On a personal note I attended the Running of the Bride's in Boston on Friday. I was with my best childhood girlfriends. It was an adventure to say the least. What a scene. I will upload a few pictures to give you a feel. Personally, I would rather make an appointment and sip champagne while shopping for a wedding dress. This is the time in life when you do what others want, and we were victorious! a $1700 dress for $500! That is worth it! And the memories that went along with it, priceless.

There are WAY too many passwords to remember in this world. I am finally updating, I don't like not being caught up so I apologize.
I was on Main St Chatham this weekend at a private home for a beautiful wedding ceremony. Then we made our way ( just as it started to pour rain) over to the private dining room in 28 Atlantic at the Wequassett Resort & Golf Club.
Partice Milley decorated the home & the room at Wequassett. What an amazing job she did.

Alexis called me hoping I would be able to relax her enough to get her new author picture! Well I was thrilled with the array of images she has to choose from, this is just one.

Last year I photographed Michael's brother for his senior picture and now it's his turn. I love to see the different family dynamics, it resonates within my own boys and it makes me realize we all need to appreciate the individuals our kids grow up to be.

The RFK Golf Tournament was this past Friday. I believe it was my 7th year photographing and every year it is even more impressive and fun! The event helps raise funds for human rights which is what the RFK Memorial stands for. Check out the link to learn more about this organization. www.rfkcenter.org

Once again I was amongst the likes of some very admirable folk! Enjoying viewing some of these silly photos. I will also try to upload a video of Bill Murray singing- it was classic. Amazing that he can sing, play golf and entertain at the drop of a hat...I was unaware but my husband told me he actually sang the song in STRIPES.

As the fall has happened upon us, I think we are welcoming winter as well....BBBRRRR.
I am keeping busy with photo shoots, weddings, events, seniors a little bit of everything. I have also begun my email marketing with constant contact. I feel I can better communicate what I am offering with all of you! Yes it is another thing to keep up with but it's actually very fun, just like this!

Last night I was able to work with this beautiful family in Chatham. 5 Years ago when I had my youngest son Charlie, I received a call from this adorably sweet lady. I was torn whether or not to continue my business as I had 3 boys under 3 years old and considered that enough work. However after talking with this bride I decided why not, I love what I do and people like this couple make me love my job even more. SO here we are 5 years after the wedding and I got to meet and play with their 2 beautiful children. Halley & Steve, thanks again for letting me be a part of your life and capturing some of life's most memorable occasions~

There are so many facets of updating with this digital era, and only one of me to keep up with them all. You see my "three buoys" here - as they are getting ready for 2nd grade and kindergarten!!! They let me "snap" a quick photo before the end of summer lobster clambake at Chatham Bars Inn.
Sorry to just be getting back to this blog. I had such an amazing summer with new & previous clients. I had more down time than expected, but I really appreciated it and got to enjoy some fabulously fun days with my boys. Something I usually have a hard time squeezing in.
I am gearing up for a busy fall than has already begun. I have 3 weddings in the 6 days starting Saturday. For all of you who know Kelly, my second photographer, she & Jeremy are getting married Saturday!!! I will me sure post pictures of the beautiful bride for all to see.

This industry is forever growing and changing! It is so fun and sometimes, too difficult, to keep up with these softwares, as well as keep new product fresh in my studio. If you have time and are in town- stop by even just to see some of the Canvas Gallery Wraps. They have been so popular and I created a wall of kids in 8x8 wraps. The best part is they can go anywhere in your house and they require no framing!

While I am not as busy as I am used to being, I am enjoying each session I have! This past week I was able to work with 2 families whom I have worked with for over 9 years and 4 years both being from California! AS you see they are still as comfortable with me as ever-such fun!

Families on the beach = summer on Cape Cod.

This is the time of year I get to see faces from years ago and meet new families! I truly love spending my evenings on the lower cape beaches. I am so fortunate to have this job! I even got the Kinum's this year, possibly without needing a headswap! With 7 girls in 10 years there is always one little one who doesn't agree with me that 6:30 on the beach is the best place to be.

They are like family so I hope they will one day enjoy it as much as I do.

I didn't get out there tonight but my boys better be ready because the next sunny evening I'm home, it's their turn! Love you guys!!

I welcome the summer season with joy!! The busyness, crowds and beautiful sunsets allow me to achieve one of my greatest pleasures of working with you, my customers. Today the sun is actually shining and it looks like it will stay that way, this is reason enough to be happy.

I have been photographing a lot this month, which is why I have not been able to blog.

I was at Chatham Bars Inn with IFA, franchisors from all over the US came to Chatham to enjoy their summer meeting. Unfortunately it wasn't summer in Chatham yet and it rained, and rained on them. Working with such groups really brings a different aspect to my business.

Congratulations to Anna & Harley!! The weather decided to cooperate for them! YEAH- There guests from 15 different states enjoyed a delicious NE clambake when they arrived here in Harwichport and yesterday a beautiful & stunning wedding took place at Wychmere Harbor Club.

I was thrilled to host a fundraiser for the Harwich Early Childhood program.

All in all it was a very fun day and some fabulous families got a rare opportunity $75.00 session fee ALL proceeds went to HCPC! These are just 2 images form the day.

Weddings, weddings and more weddings

It has been a very busy Spring with weddings. What a great way to begin the season. Ironically enough all of my weddings so far and the next 2 have been at Wequassett Inn. By the way the Inn looks stunning with there newest phase of construction. It is such a pleasure seeing all the dynamics of each family and working with them all. I have always loved that aspect of my photography business.

I'll upload a few of my favorites images. I also had time for Harwich Little League photos and my twins are in that group. It has been quite a few years that I have been fortunate to capture these kids. It so much fun seeing them all grow up through the years. Tonight I will be toasting with all my Harwich friends at the Toast of Harwich, again at Wequassett. SO if you are on your way there don't forget to have your photo taken! I am sure it is not often you are dressed up, without the kids, and at such a stellar setting!

ALSO~ My new studio is in full swing. I am thrilled with the renovations of the space and can't wait for you all to see how quaint it is.

ALl of my winter"down" time is over. I finished my winter education with a fantastic Lightroom Seminar given by Steve Sedman right here on the Cape. I am thrilled ot start putting all of my new ideas to work. AS usual I have plenty to keep me busy but add on a new move!
In just 3 weeks I will move into my new studio space/retail shop at 443 Main ST! I will be just a few steps down main street in Chatham, MA. Lots of new things to be celebrating, new location ,new logo, new proofing! all of my contact information is the same..thank you for following! Stop by to say hi starting MAY 1-.

I am thrilled to have enjoyed a fabulous wedding last night at Chatham Bars Inn. Katie & Steve were absolutely adorable and one of the most enjoyable couples to work with. Patrice Milley did a stunning job decorating the Boat House for the ceremony and the Main Dining room looked like a classical ballroom. Were we able to photograph outdoors, despite the chilly temps, it was a picture perfect day!! MY favorite part of the day was the "gift" Katie's parents gave to Katie & Steve!! Gail Fitzpatrick came from Carlisle Ma to paint a live canvas of the wedding reception- stunning, amazing and just jaw dropping. You can see her work in progress in the photo I have attached. She then goes home to put the finishing touches on the canvas. An amazing piece of art for the couple to begin their lives with. Thank you Katie & Steve for allowing me to share in your wedding day!!

The season has begun and I could not be happier!!

More photography conventions continue this week. I was thrilled to attend the Wireless Flash tips & tricks with world famous photographer Mike Fulton of Tricoast photography. This is where professionalism can be seen and where are professional stands out above the average photographer. We were able to interact, ask questions, listen to & watch demos. SO much knowledge, when will Spring arrive so I can get some shooting in?!?

this weekend I will be heading to Newport, RI for a photoshop crash course. There is always more to learn and new shortcuts being introduced in the adobe world. I am not a techno junkie so I need as many refresher course along the way. I welcome the conventions, conferences etc. It is a wonderful way for me to stay connected with my colleagues, my competition & my "idols" for lack of better word.

All of these courses are gearing me up for what looks to be another VERY promising season in 2009!

Can't wait to see you here~ ( and see some warmer weather)

IN early January I got to have fun in the cold with Maggie & Patrick at their Chatham Bars Inn wedding! We had such a beautiful day for beach pictures, yes in January, we were all thrilled. Thanks for letting me celebrate with you & all of your Wake Forest friends.

I recently got back from some fabulous weather & learning at Imaging USA in Phoenix!

Whenever I feel like I am running close to empty, attending a convention or seminar usually does the trick to get me back on track. I heard some of the world's leading photographers speak about marketing, blogging, posing, lighting, workflow...lots of information gathered! SO now I get to create during these "off" months. Realistically speaking there is no down time when you are a business owner. This is the time of year for taxes, revamping, new marketing pieces, album design & creating a new '09 plan!

I know you'll be just as excited as I am when you see my new marketing!

SO the first thing I thought of when I decided to add a blog to my site was, I best blog!

Well now over a month has passed, the holidays are here and I have not put up a new post.

Things are as busy as you can expect them, despite the economic tragedy this country is in. So far I am holding my own for 2009 bookings and with plenty of Holiday card and print orders to keep me busy daily.

Sometimes I feel as though I work for UPS in the packaging department. I like my products to come to me so I can present them as I like to my clients. Other times there is simply not enough time and the items have to be drop shipped, that isn't so bad for me! Less the personal touch is not there.

Back to designing albums & cards(yes, still)

Enjoy the Holiday festivities as they will be over before we know it....

I hope to be back sooner than later.

WOW, it has been awhile since I last posted. You can tell things have slowed down a bit, I get to let my guard down. Oh only for the briefest moment. Only then do I forget to do such things as blog! Between keeping my website updated,blogging, facebooking and actually working there is not much time left in the day! Then add my wild and crazy boys and it's no wonder I can fall asleep with ease each night.

I have been quite busy designing albums. Once I motivate myself it is so much fun to create these albums for my clients.

The Holiday orders are flooding in as well, if you are reading this and have yet to order- deadline is November 26 for holiday cards and Dec 10 for print orders.

I cannot believe we are that close to the Holidays! Every year goes by faster than the next.

It should remind us all to slow down and enjoy each day-

I am now at the end of my season. What an amazing one it has been. I have just finished up the Robert F. Kennedy Golf tournament for my 8th year! What a great event! This year Morning Joe was live at Hyannisport Golf Club. Joe Scarborough and his anchor, Mika got to enjoy a cool Cape Cod morning on the course. As seen here, Ethel Kennedy, Martin Sheen & Bill Murray Murray were present.

Peter Gallagher, Matt McCoy, Gloria Ruben & Jim Rice were a few of the talented players this year. AS usual it was a very fun "job". I do love what I do!

On Friday evening a friend was married at Wequassett Inn and I was fortunate to take the photos. Chris & Emily make what I consider a perfect match! I wish them many,many years of happiness together. As you can see I added some images from the tournament and the wedding-

What a beautiful weekend it was for a wedding! Kelly & I both got to capture and celebrate with Tara & Brendan at Wequassett Inn on Saturday. They had a few poses that they consider signature to them ..this being one, on the dock with a fishing pole.

What a fun couple who certainly knew how to have a great time!! Thanks for allowing us to be there with you!

It is back to the editing grind for me as I finish up my last real week of busy time. I am looking forward to editing, designing and holiday orders.

Off to CBI for the Welch Group "roast" of the retiring CEO. A late start but it will be fun at the least...
